Metals Creek Resources Corp. has announced promising results from a recent prospecting program at the Ogden Gold Project, located in Timmins, Ontario. The project is a collaboration with Discovery Silver Corp., with Metals Creek acting as the operator. The prospecting targeted an area west of the historical Naybob Gold Deposit, revealing significant geological alterations indicative of potential mineralization.
Prospecting efforts have uncovered an area characterized by a broad zone of strong to intense alteration, located approximately 400 meters west-northwest of the past-producing gold deposit. This alteration zone, measuring at least 30 meters in width, features fuchsite and sericite alterations, alongside a network of quartz stockwork and notable silicification and carbonatization.
Within this alteration zone, a distinct area has been identified with quartz flooding and disseminated pyrite, ranging from 1% to 5%, along with trace amounts of arsenopyrite and local galena. This mineralization zone is about 3.5 meters wide and shares similarities with the mineralization style of the nearby Thomas Ogden Zone. Four samples taken from this mineralized area yielded assay results of 0.267 grams per tonne (g/t), 4.24 g/t, 4.33 g/t, and 7.59 g/t. This high-grade gold mineralization was found in a section of the property that has not seen recent exploration, with historical activities dating back to the 1930s and 1940s.
Management expressed enthusiasm regarding the identification of this high-grade gold mineralization along a trend extending from a past-producing deposit. The area, now termed “Naybob West,” has been designated as a high-priority target, with plans for further follow-up work scheduled later this month to assess the extent and orientation of the mineralization.
The Ogden Gold Project, situated within the prolific Timmins Gold Camp, spans an 8-kilometer strike length along the Porcupine-Destor Break—an essential structure for gold mineralization in the region. Alongside gold exploration, Metals Creek holds other projects, including the Tillex copper project, where promising drilling results have previously been reported.
