Mueller Furniture & Mattress, a fourth-generation family-owned business based in Fairview Heights, Illinois, has made a noteworthy move by becoming one of the first independently owned furniture retailers in the region to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. This initiative aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to enhance customer service by providing various payment options.
To mark this significant transition, Mueller Furniture is extending an additional 15% discount to customers who opt to pay using Bitcoin from now until the end of the year. Owner Mark Mueller explained that accepting cryptocurrency is designed to cater to a diverse customer base and to position the company at the forefront of industry innovation.
Mueller addressed the common skepticism surrounding Bitcoin by highlighting its increasing acceptance among larger, established companies. He emphasized the importance of encouraging customers to utilize this emerging payment method. “Some customers prefer to use financing options, while others like to rack up credit card rewards points,” he noted, adding that the introduction of Bitcoin payments provides incentives for those who own cryptocurrency.
The payment process for Bitcoin is streamlined for customer convenience. After selecting the option to pay with Bitcoin, customers receive a text or email containing a secure link. This link allows them to enter their information and the intended payment amount, facilitating a swift and secure transaction.
While acknowledging that the Bitcoin transaction may not be as instantaneous as tapping a credit card, Mueller assured customers that it is faster than applying for traditional no-interest financing options.
Mueller Furniture operates several locations, including stores in Lake St. Louis and Ellisville, Missouri, in addition to its flagship showroom in Belleville, Illinois, and a warehouse showroom in Fairview Heights. The acceptance of Bitcoin represents a forward-thinking approach that exemplifies the company’s adaptability in a rapidly changing retail landscape.
