Netflix has unveiled a gripping new trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller series, “His & Hers,” showcasing the dramatic interplay between Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson. The limited series consists of six episodes and dives deep into a complex murder investigation that takes unexpected turns.
In a tense narrative, Detective Jack Harper, portrayed by Bernthal, pairs with Anna, played by Thompson, as they delve into the seedy details of a murder case. However, the intrigue thickens as both characters find themselves facing accusations from one another. The supporting cast features notable names such as Pablo Schreiber, Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland, and Poppy Liu, adding further depth to the unfolding mystery.
Key moments from the trailer hint at the fraught dynamics between Jack and Anna. “I didn’t hurt her, Anna. Do you know who did it?” Jack questions, to which Anna asserts her innocence, replying, “I didn’t do it, if that’s what you’re asking.” This back-and-forth establishes a tense atmosphere where trust is tenuous, culminating in Anna’s poignant observation: “There are two sides to every story. Ours and theirs. Yours and mine. His and hers. Which means someone is always lying.”
Set against the burning backdrop of Atlanta, the series introduces Anna, who grapples with her isolation as she retreats from both her career as a news anchor and her social connections. The catalyst for her revival comes when she hears about a murder in Dahlonega, her hometown. The case reignites her investigative instincts, but Jack, suspicious of her intentions, complicates the matter further as he pursues her amidst the investigation.
“His & Hers” is an adaptation of Alice Feeney’s 2020 novel and is brought to life under the banner of Fifth Season. Co-showrunners William Oldroyd and Dee Johnson guide the series, with a talented lineup of executive producers including Tessa Thompson, Oldroyd, Johnson, and others.
The highly anticipated series is set to premiere on Netflix on January 8, 2026, and is expected to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as mysteries unravel and allegiances are tested.
