DUBAI, United Arab Emirates and LONDON and CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. and MIAMI — OKX Ventures has made a significant strategic investment in STBL, an innovator in stablecoin and yield infrastructure. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in enhancing blockchain-based financial infrastructure as STBL teams up with Hamilton Lane, a premier global private markets investment firm, and Securitize, known for its digital securities issuance and tokenization capabilities. Together, they aim to launch a new real-world asset-backed stablecoin on the X Layer, which is OKX’s EVM-compatible Layer 2 blockchain.
X Layer is designed to provide customers with streamlined access to thousands of tokens, ensuring deep liquidity and secure, low-cost transactions within the broader OKX onchain ecosystem. This partnership represents a concerted effort to merge traditional financial frameworks with emerging blockchain solutions. By integrating institutional private credit, regulated tokenization, and programmable settlement infrastructures, the parties involved seek to propel regulated onchain financial products forward.
Central to this initiative is an asset framework that leverages a feeder fund from Hamilton Lane’s Senior Credit Opportunities Fund (SCOPE), which will be issued and tokenized via Securitize. This institutional-grade component is integral to the overall collateral architecture for the stablecoin launch. STBL will also introduce the first Ecosystem-Specific Stablecoin (ESS) on X Layer, utilizing a dual-token architecture to differentiate between liquid settlement and yield generation.
OKX Ventures’ investment aligns with STBL’s goal of developing a Money-as-a-Service framework, which will enable various ecosystems to issue their own branded stablecoins backed by real-world assets (RWAs). Jeff Ren, Founder of OKX Ventures, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in enhancing the efficiency of RWA products across the network. “Working with STBL and Hamilton Lane will help accelerate our mission and deliver a more mature RWA ecosystem to users,” he stated.
According to Dr. Avtar Sehra, Founder and CEO of STBL, the evolving RWA markets require tokenization that provides actual utility. “STBL’s architecture is custom-built for RWA-backed stablecoins combined with compliant yield management,” he explained. The collaboration aims to enhance liquidity and yield management while ensuring efficient utility within onchain ecosystems.
Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, underscored the transformative potential of this initiative. He noted that the structure exemplifies how tokenization can unlock effective utility when merged with regulated issuance and programmable settlement. The integration of institutional private credit into onchain money flows allows tokenized assets to become functional components that can be settled, composed, and utilized across various financial applications.
It is important to note that this announcement serves as an informational release and does not represent an offer or solicitation. Potential investors are cautioned that participation in any issuance or yield initiatives may be subject to jurisdictional regulations and may not be available universally. Various risks associated with stablecoins and tokenized assets, such as market, credit, and liquidity risks, should be carefully considered.
STBL has been co-founded by industry veterans Reeve Collins—known for his role in developing Tether—and Dr. Avtar Sehra, renowned for founding companies including Nivaura and Kaio. STBL’s architecture supports the launch of ecosystem-specific stablecoins, making it a significant player in the evolving landscape of digital finance.
OKX Ventures continues to invest in projects that drive innovation within the blockchain industry, while Hamilton Lane operates as a leading private markets investment firm offering tailored solutions to institutional and private wealth investors globally. Securitize, recognized for its advancements in the field, aims to revolutionize investment processes through innovative tokenization strategies.
As the partnership between STBL, Hamilton Lane, and OKX Ventures unfolds, it is expected to shape the future of digital finance by providing scalable, regulated solutions that harness the potential of blockchain technology.
