Images recently released by House Democrats from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein include notable figures such as former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and film director Woody Allen, among others. The release, which reportedly contained nearly 100,000 photos, was made public by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, although specific dates and contexts for these images remain unclear.
One of the images features Donald Trump positioned among six women, their faces obscured by redactions prior to the release. Dressed in Hawaiian leis, the women surround Trump, who is pictured at what appears to be a social gathering. Additional photos show Trump standing behind Epstein, as well as another instance where he is seated next to a woman on what looks like an aircraft, with her identity also covered.
The relationship between Trump and Epstein was characterized as a friendship that lasted until a falling out in the early 2000s. Trump has denied any wrongdoing or knowledge regarding Epstein’s illicit activities during their friendship. A request for comment has been sent to the White House by CNBC.
Bill Clinton also features in one of the released photos alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who has been convicted on charges of procuring underage girls for Epstein. Clinton’s image bears his signature. Other prominent individuals depicted include former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, previously known as Prince Andrew of Britain.
The newly revealed photos are part of an extensive collection that the House Oversight Committee is currently reviewing. The committee emphasizes its commitment to protecting the identities of victims as it continues to disclose the photographs over the coming weeks.
Rep. Robert Garcia of California, a leading Democratic member on the committee, has called for transparency, stating, “It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends.” He has urged the Department of Justice to release all pertinent files that are still withheld.
The release of this photo set comes against the backdrop of previous decades of legal struggles surrounding Epstein, who died by suicide in a jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for charges related to her involvement with Epstein.
Angel Urena, a spokesperson for Clinton, has reiterated that the former president has no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities, noting Clinton’s limited interactions with him, which were primarily work-related and included several trips on Epstein’s private plane linked to the Clinton Foundation.
The investigation continues as the committee prepares to sift through the remaining vast collection of photographs, with Garcia indicating some photos may depict alarming scenarios that have yet to be disclosed. As the inquiry progresses, further updates from the committee are anticipated, including responses from those featured in the images.
