Provenance Gold Corp. has announced promising results from its drilling program at the Eldorado gold project located in eastern Oregon. The latest findings from drill hole ED-26 have revealed significant intervals of gold mineralization, showing 1.55 g/t Au over 92.96 meters. Notably, this includes higher-grade sections of 2.39 g/t Au over 25.91 meters and a remarkable 11.61 g/t Au over a shorter distance of 1.52 meters.
The current drilling activities have successfully extended the known mineralization further north, providing new avenues for growth within the high-grade zone. This expansion not only links the mineralization in ED-26 to that of ED-21 but also reinforces the company’s developing structural model. This model suggests that the mineralization forms shallow dipping sheets, demonstrating good continuity between various zones.
Chairman Rauno Perttu emphasized the significance of hole ED-26, highlighting its contribution to the understanding of the geological structure of the area. Perttu remarked that the latest results not only confirm the geological interpretation but also indicate substantial connectivity across different zones. The ongoing drilling further suggests that the system’s footprint is expanding as more mineralization is uncovered.
In addition to the strong results from ED-26, assays for drill holes ED-27 through ED-31 are still pending, which are anticipated to provide deeper insights into the geometry and potential scale of the mineralized corridor.
In terms of quality assurance, the company has implemented stringent QA/QC measures to ensure the integrity of sampling and analysis processes. Drill samples were taken at 1.5-meter intervals and subjected to rigorous testing, including the use of certified standards, blanks, and field duplicates added to the sample stream approximately every 30 meters.
To validate the presence of gold, the samples were sent for testing using the PhotonAssay™ method at Paragon Geochemical in Reno, Nevada, which is known for its fast and accurate results using advanced gamma-ray activation techniques.
Provenance Gold Corp. continues to focus on gold and silver exploration, with current interests spanning locations in Nevada and Oregon. As the company moves forward, the upcoming assay results from additional drill holes hold the potential to further unravel the mineral wealth of the Eldorado property, bolstering both the company’s prospects and its confidence in the mining potential in the region.
