Web3 consumer brand Rekt Brands has achieved a significant milestone by selling its 1 millionth can of Rekt Drinks, a flavored sparkling water. This accomplishment comes shortly after the successful launch of its latest flavor, “Moon Crush,” a collaboration with payments infrastructure company MoonPay. The peach-raspberry beverage has resonated with consumers, contributing to the brand’s continued growth in the competitive beverage market.
Since its inception in November 2024, Rekt Brands has focused on forming strategic partnerships with other prominent figures in the Web3 space. Previous collaborations include work with Solana’s DeFi protocol Jupiter, Ethereum layer-2 network Abstract, and Coinbase’s layer-2 network, Base. Co-founder and CEO Ovie Faruq emphasized the importance of being selective in partnerships to maintain the brand’s premium image. “We have received a large amount of incoming inquiries from some of crypto’s biggest brands,” said Faruq, adding that it is crucial to work with companies that align with Rekt’s vision of becoming a leading global beverage brand.
Faruq noted that MoonPay’s role as a “gateway” for both crypto enthusiasts and newcomers made the partnership particularly appealing. MoonPay President Keith Grossman expressed excitement about collaborating with Rekt, stating, “We’re thrilled to bring something to life that is both delicious and deeply connected to the crypto community.”
The brand initially gained attention by selling 220,000 cans of its first flavor, “Liquidated Lime,” within 48 hours, thanks to its rewards program called “Drank Points.” This initiative ultimately led to the development of the REKT crypto token, which surged to an all-time high market cap of approximately $583 million in August, marking an increase of nearly 1,400% from its launch. Currently, the token maintains a market cap around $341 million.
Rekt Brands’ innovative approach has successfully bridged the gap between the crypto world and everyday consumers, as illustrated by its swift expansion and the growing demand for its products. The brand’s presence in major retail locations, including multiple Southern California 7/11 stores, reflects its rising popularity and potential to reshape the beverage landscape.
