Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently expressed his admiration for the XRP community’s enthusiasm and global outreach, particularly highlighting their involvement at the XRP Seoul event. This praise followed an announcement from the XRP Seoul official X handle, which marked the impressive success of the event’s debut.
Taking place on September 21 during Korean Blockchain Week, the XRP Seoul 2025 gathering drew more than 3,000 attendees from over 40 countries. It was celebrated as one of Asia’s most impactful events centered on the XRP ecosystem and the broader Web3 landscape. Organizers shared video highlights that showcased the significant turnout, along with key events such as fireside chats and keynote speeches from influential figures in the crypto sector, including Ripple’s president, Monica Long.
Garlinghouse commended the XRP community for their dedication and significant turnout at this inaugural event. He also extended congratulations to the organizing team for their efforts in making the conference a success, expressing Ripple’s eagerness for future engagements. This isn’t the first time he has lauded the community; after the XRP Las Vegas conference earlier in the year, which attracted record attendance, he noted the community’s unwavering support and growth. In 2023, he specifically acknowledged the XRP community for their solidarity during Ripple’s legal challenges against the SEC, highlighting the submission of 3,000 affidavits by community members, which played a role in the judicial ruling that deemed programmatic sales of XRP not to be securities.
XRP Seoul 2025 not only served as a networking hub for community members but also facilitated key developments within the XRP ecosystem. One notable announcement came from Georgios Vlachos, co-founder of the Axelar Network, who introduced the launch of mXRP, the first liquid staking token on the XRP Ledger, aiming for an attractive annual return of up to 10%. Additionally, Ripple unveiled plans to establish a new Asia-Pacific (APAC) hub in South Korea, as explained by Christina Chan, Ripple’s Senior Director of Ecosystem Growth, a move designed to bolster the company’s presence in the region.
This conference exemplifies the XRP community’s dedication and the ongoing developments within the ecosystem, spotlighting the robust support for Ripple’s vision and initiatives moving forward.
