Video platform Rumble is set to enhance its monetization options for creators by introducing a bitcoin tipping feature for its 51 million monthly users by mid-December. This initiative, announced at the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, Switzerland, marks a significant step towards giving creators more direct financial connections with their audiences.
The new tipping feature was developed in collaboration with Tether, a leading stablecoin issuer, which will enable viewers to send Bitcoin tips via a digital wallet integrated into Rumble’s app. As of now, the company has indicated that the system is still undergoing testing, and the first successful BTC tip was sent to Canadian content creator David Freiheit.
This partnership comes as Tether has made a substantial investment of $775 million in Rumble, showcasing its commitment to the platform. The company’s strategy includes utilizing Rumble to promote its U.S.-compliant stablecoin, USAT, aiming to reach 100 million Americans through this channel.
Moreover, Rumble has embraced a bitcoin treasury strategy, with the platform currently holding 211 BTC, as reported by Bitcointreasuries data. This strategic move not only aligns Rumble with the growing digital asset landscape but also indicates a broader trend in which video platforms seek innovative ways to support and empower content creators financially.
