ServiceNow is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Armis, a cybersecurity startup that had been preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) next year. According to Bloomberg News, the potential deal could be valued at up to $7 billion, although it is subject to possible complications, including the emergence of other bidders or the talks falling through.
Both ServiceNow and Armis did not respond to requests for comment from Reuters outside of business hours. Armis, a U.S.-Israeli firm, successfully raised $435 million in a fundraising round last November, which valued the company at approximately $6.1 billion. Founded in 2016, Armis specializes in securing connected devices in real time, protecting organizations against various cyber threats. It has established a significant presence in the cybersecurity space, servicing over 40% of Fortune 100 companies.
The demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions has surged in recent months, driven by a series of high-profile cyberattacks that have resulted in significant monetary losses and data breaches worldwide. In response to these challenges, lawmakers are urging that cyber resilience be prioritized at the board level to ensure better oversight and management of cybersecurity risks within organizations.
