The fast-food chain Taco Bell is celebrating the holiday season with a playful twist, introducing a unique dessert just in time for Friendsgiving festivities. This new offering, the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie, bursts with a vibrant citrus flavor inspired by the beloved tropical lime soda. The dessert features a graham cracker crust and a whipped cream topping, closely resembling a traditional key lime pie.
This fun concept was first hinted at during Taco Bell’s Live Más convention in March, igniting excitement among fans who quickly took to social media to create and share memes about the pie. In a recent press release, Taco Bell highlighted the enthusiasm of its community, stating that “driven by a wave of fan-made memes, the community kept the dream alive until Taco Bell finally made it fork-ready for the fans.”
Starting November 6, the Baja Blast Pie will be available at Taco Bell locations across the country, but it will be sold in limited quantities. Dubbed “one of Taco Bell’s most exclusive fan launches ever,” the pie can only be purchased as a whole for $20, with a strict limit of one pie per order available either in-store at the front counter or through the drive-thru. The brand cautions fans to act quickly, as the limited supply means the pies are likely to sell out fast.
In addition to the pie, Taco Bell is introducing a Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie Chiller. This frozen beverage is described as a “sweet and creamy frozen blended drink” that incorporates pieces of the Baja Blast Pie into a vanilla ice cream base. The Pie Chiller will be available in select Live Más Cafés located in Southern California and Texas from November 6, with sizes priced at $4.19 for a 16-ounce serving and $4.59 for a 20-ounce serving.
For those unable to secure a Baja Blast Pie, the company playfully suggests creating a more traditional key lime pie at home for Friendsgiving, perhaps adding a dash of blue food coloring to capture the festive spirit of Taco Bell’s latest creation.
As fans gear up for the holiday gatherings, the buzz around these latest offerings signals Taco Bell’s commitment to infusing humor and creativity into its menu, making the holiday season a bit more colorful and fun.
