President Donald Trump’s memecoin initiative is preparing to host an exclusive gathering for its highest holders at the Trump family’s private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, set for late April. This event is being marketed as a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience, featuring a gala luncheon with Trump himself expected to deliver a keynote address. The conference, touted as “THE MOST EXCLUSIVE CRYPTO & BUSINESS CONFERENCE IN THE WORLD,” promises appearances from 18 unidentified “global superstars,” and has sparked interest in the cryptocurrency community, evidenced by a nearly 60% surge in the price of the $TRUMP token following the announcement.
Reflecting on last year’s event in May 2025, where the top 220 holders of Trump’s memecoin dined at his Virginia golf club, critiques arose about the nature of the gathering, with allegations of it being a pay-for-access scheme. A White House spokesperson defended the event, stating that Trump’s objective was to secure beneficial deals for the American public. However, attendees expressed disappointment with elements of the experience, including the meal, which one participant described as “Walmart steak.”
This year’s event will see an expanded invite list, accommodating the top 297 holders of $TRUMP. The 29 top holders will have a VIP reception where they can interact with Trump and other notable figures. Noteworthy attendees from the previous dinner included crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, basketball player Lamar Odom, and Jack Lu, CEO of the NFT marketplace Magic Eden.
Nicholas Pinto, a social media influencer and one of the attendees from last year, is planning to return despite his past grievances regarding the food. He mentioned that this event represents another opportunity to network with other high-profile attendees. “Anyone that I didn’t speak to will probably be at this event. I can talk to them again,” Pinto stated, revealing that he still holds approximately $40,000 in the cryptocurrency, even after selling some of his assets.
Despite promotional claims about Trump’s confirmed attendance, a White House official indicated that his participation had not yet been finalized, highlighting a scheduling conflict with the White House correspondents’ dinner on the same day. Bill Zanker, a long-time Trump associate and organizer of the event, had not confirmed whether the President would attend or who the featured “global superstars” might be.
Additionally, the upcoming conference has drawn attention due to its mention of Robinhood, which is described as the “Preferred Platform for the TRUMP Leaderboard.” This leaderboard facilitates holders in tracking their memecoin balances to qualify for the gala. A spokesperson for Robinhood clarified that the company is offering users a way to connect their accounts to this leaderboard without any financial exchange for the integration.
As anticipation builds for the event, both participants and spectators are left wondering about the implications of the gathering and the continued evolution of cryptocurrencies in the political sphere.
