Fan voting for the Pro Bowl Games is set to conclude on Monday, and the Minnesota Vikings are actively promoting their specialists as contenders for NFC honors. Among those highlighted is kicker Will Reichard, who has built a strong career following his time at Hoover High School and the University of Alabama.
In an innovative promotional effort, the Vikings featured Reichard, punter Ryan Wright, and long snapper Andrew DePaola in a playful video styled as a barbershop quartet, albeit one without one member, to deliver their appeal in a memorable manner. Their pitch is both engaging and humorous, aiming to rally fan support.
Reichard, who has already made a name for himself in the competitive landscape of kicking by not only being a standout performer but also the first player to make four field goals of 59 yards or more in a single season, currently finds himself in a tight race for Pro Bowl recognition. His impressive stats show that he has successfully converted 22 of 24 field-goal attempts and has maintained a perfect record of 23 extra-point conversions in the current season.
Despite his individual success, Reichard’s scoring opportunities have been somewhat hampered by Minnesota’s inconsistent offense. He has amassed 89 points in 13 games this season, a significant drop from his rookie year where he scored 110 points over the same number of games. The difference is attributed to fewer field-goal attempts and a noticeable decrease in touchdowns.
Fans eager to support their Pro Bowl favorites have several avenues to cast their votes, including online platforms and social media. Voting takes place until the deadline on Monday, with Reichard being one of 74 players from Alabama high schools and colleges appearing on the ballot. Votes can be submitted via posts on X, as well as through the Madden NFL 26 Mobile game, which features a dedicated Pro Bowl event tile. In a boost for last-minute voting, each social media submission in the final days counts as two votes.
The selection process for the Pro Bowl will involve votes from fans, NFL players, and coaches, each holding an equal weight of one-third in determining the final roster for the NFC and AFC teams. The culmination of this event will be a 7-on-7 flag football game featuring Pro Bowl players, scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on February 3 at the Moscone Center South Building in San Francisco.
In the meantime, Reichard and the Vikings are preparing to take on the Dallas Cowboys in a key matchup at 7:20 p.m. CST on Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with the game being broadcast on NBC.
