Vrabel Optimistic About Injured Patriots Players’ Returns

In a recent press conference, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the media, providing an update on two key players currently sidelined due to injuries. Vrabel’s succinct statement, “we’ll get them back,” refers specifically to left tackle Will Campbell and defensive lineman Milton Williams, both of whom have been placed on injured reserve.

Will Campbell suffered an MCL sprain during a challenging matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12, while Milton Williams sustained an ankle injury the week prior in a game against the New York Jets. Following their injuries, both players were placed on IR, which mandates a minimum four-game absence from active play. This move has fueled speculation regarding the timing of their returns.

Despite the uncertainty, Vrabel remains optimistic about their recovery process. “We have a plan for each guy,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of their involvement in the rehabilitation process. He highlighted that both players are actively participating in meetings while also balancing their rehab schedules to avoid overwhelming the training room. The coach further explained that a week prior to potential practice resumption, the players will be fully reintegrated into team meetings to prepare for their return.

Milton Williams is poised to be the first of the two players eligible to return. If cleared for practice, he could be back in time for the Patriots’ Week 17 clash against the Jets. Following him, Campbell is eligible to return the week after that as the team prepares for their season finale against the Miami Dolphins. Both players have a 21-day window once they start practicing to be reinstated to the active roster; otherwise, they will remain on IR for the duration of the season.

As the Patriots look to navigate the remainder of the season, the return of these players will be crucial. Their presence on the field could significantly impact the team’s performance in the critical coming weeks.
