In a significant announcement for the Web3 community, DWF Labs, a prominent investor and market maker, has confirmed its support for the annual hackathon, Web3 Unleashed, for the third consecutive year. As the official event partner, DWF Labs will enhance the initiative by contributing to the impressive $140,000 prize pool and taking on an active role in the event.
Set against the backdrop of Dubai’s international business district, the hackathon will unfold under the theme “Shaping the Next Wave of Web3.” The submission window commenced on September 1 and will remain open until October 5, inviting developers from around the globe to submit their innovative ideas.
Web3 Unleashed, organized by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) in partnership with Bybit, serves as a platform for aspiring developers and entrepreneurs. DWF Labs will extend its involvement beyond financial support; team members will serve as judges to evaluate submissions throughout the duration of the event. This year introduces two new tracks: DeFAI, which merges decentralized finance with artificial intelligence, and DeSci, focused on advancements in decentralized science and research.
The hackathon aims to drive the creation of practical Web3 solutions addressing real-world problems. Supported by notable sponsors such as Hacken, Cointelegraph, and the Blockchain Gaming Alliance, participants will have access to mentorship and resources that can aid in transforming their innovative ideas into tangible solutions.
Andrei Grachev, Managing Partner of DWF Labs, expressed enthusiasm about continuing their support for Web3 Unleashed, highlighting the potential of this year’s event to elevate blockchain technology applications through the collaboration of creative developer teams.
Previous editions of the hackathon witnessed substantial participation, showcasing diverse decentralized solutions including artificial intelligence applications, zero-knowledge protocols, and identity systems. The top five projects from last year were awarded prizes after a rigorous evaluation process by a panel of experts.
Following the current submission period, teams will undergo a vetting process, with the top five selected to present at a live demo day scheduled for November 26 at DMCC’s flagship tower, S/O Uptown Dubai. This event will provide finalists the opportunity to pitch to a panel of investors, advisors, and industry experts, culminating in an awards ceremony and an afterparty to celebrate the innovations of the participating teams.
For those interested in participating, applications for the 2025 DMCC-Bybit Hackathon can be submitted online.
