In a thrilling development for fans of the acclaimed series Peaky Blinders, the franchise is set to expand its universe with the upcoming film titled Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. Throughout its six-season run, the show has featured an array of illustrious guest stars, including Tom Hardy, Sam Neill, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Adrien Brody. Now, the roster is set to grow even more impressive with the addition of Barry Keoghan, known for his roles in Saltburn and The Banshees Of Inisherin.
Keoghan will portray a mysterious new character who leads a young generation of the Peaky Blinders in 1940s Birmingham. While details about the character remain closely guarded, fans are sure to recognize his iconic look complete with a flat cap. In a playful interaction with Empire, Keoghan remarked on the significance of his character’s connection to the phrase, “by order of the Peaky Blinders,” stating, “I feel like I shouldn’t be allowed to say it. It’s such an iconic line.”
His entry into the Peaky Blinders saga is a long-anticipated one. Keoghan, who previously worked alongside Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, has expressed a longstanding desire to join the series. Despite several opportunities over the years, scheduling conflicts and role mismatches prevented his participation. However, when the call came for The Immortal Man, it was Murphy who personally reached out to him, detailing exactly who he envisioned Keoghan would play. “I said, ‘Of course, bro. At the drop of a hat,’” Keoghan said. “I was like, ‘Freakin’ yeah. Anything to work with yourself again.’”
As the narrative takes a new direction and introduces younger characters, many are excited to see what fresh dynamics will arise. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man aims to deliver an experience unlike any other, with insights from its key players; Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson, and creator Steven Knight are all set to discuss the film in the February 2026 issue of Empire.
