Bitget, recognized as the world’s largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has bolstered its commitment to global brand storytelling and user engagement by appointing Ignacio Aguirre Franco as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). With a robust background spanning over fifteen years in technology, fintech, and blockchain, Ignacio brings a unique blend of engineering and marketing expertise to the role.
Prior to joining Bitget, Ignacio held significant positions at industry-leading companies such as Adobe, SAP, Scorechain, and Xapo Bank, where he played a pivotal role in scaling global products and enhancing market positioning. His self-described identity as a “builder at heart” allows him to merge his technical acumen with creativity, aiming to demystify complex technologies and make them accessible to a broader audience.
At Bitget, Ignacio’s objective is to further the company’s vision of a Universal Exchange (UEX) that seamlessly integrates centralized finance (CeFi), decentralized finance (DeFi), and traditional finance (TradFi). He will spearhead global marketing initiatives with an aim to enhance user engagement, refine product narratives, and promote the adoption of key offerings like Onchain, GetAgent, and Stock Futures.
Ignacio emphasized the importance of access in technology, stating, “The core of any great tech is based on its access and the greater opportunities it brings to disrupt. For too long, finance has been a fractured landscape; my mission at Bitget is to dismantle those old barriers.” He aims to ensure that the narrative surrounding the UEX resonates with billions globally, paving the way for secure access to cryptocurrency and real-world assets for everyone.
His appointment comes as Bitget embarks on a transformative phase aimed at expanding its global influence and solidifying its reputation for innovation and trust. The company is targeting 150 million users by 2026, while offering a range of cross-market trading solutions to promote financial inclusivity.
Gracy Chen, the CEO of Bitget, welcomed Ignacio’s appointment, noting, “Ignacio brings a mix of technical fluency and creative vision, and it aligns perfectly with our mission. His direction will influence how we link innovation, culture, and community globally as Bitget develops into a true Universal Exchange.”
As Bitget marks its seventh year, the company is enhancing its cultural presence through partnerships with notable organizations such as LALIGA, MotoGP, and the UNTOLD Festival. Ignacio’s role is vital in bridging technology and humanity, as Bitget strives to foster a more accessible financial future.
Founded in 2018, Bitget currently serves over 120 million users, offering access to a multitude of crypto tokens, tokenized stocks, ETFs, and other real-world assets through a single platform. The exchange emphasizes smarter trading through AI-powered tools and interoperability across various blockchain networks, while its decentralized wallet supports extensive trading and access to over 20,000 decentralized applications.
In its bid to drive crypto adoption, Bitget has also formed strategic partnerships, including its status as the Official Crypto Partner of LALIGA in Eastern, Southeast Asia, and Latin American markets. Additionally, the company has collaborated with UNICEF to promote blockchain education for 1.1 million individuals by 2027, further aligning with its global impact strategy.
As the cryptocurrency landscape continues to evolve, Bitget is poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of finance through innovation and community engagement.
