In a significant development for the prediction market sector, Myriad has successfully concluded its seed investment round, bolstered by the involvement of several high-profile investors. The funding round saw notable participation from prominent companies and individuals, including MoonPay, Walrus, and Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat. Other participating firms comprised Verda Ventures, Auros, Igloo Inc., Side Door Ventures, EVG, and MoonPay Ventures, along with Wave Financial. Individual investors included well-known figures in the crypto community, such as Seedphrase, Blondish, and Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins.
Myriad co-founder and COO Ilan Hazan emphasized that the funding not only broadens the company’s investor base but also marks an important endorsement of its strategic direction. The infusion of capital is expected to significantly enhance product development, growth, and expansion efforts.
Loxley Fernandes, the CEO and co-founder of Myriad, stated that the new investment will facilitate aggressive enhancements to product development, market liquidity, and overall expansion, thereby strengthening the underlying infrastructure of the platform. This funding announcement follows the launch of Myriad’s third season, which involved transitioning its event contracts to the BNB Chain and adopting World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin as its primary settlement asset.
The platform has also made a strategic shift from an automated market maker model to a Central Limit Order Book system. This transition introduces several new functionalities, including slippage controls, limit orders, dynamic fees, and improved market data. In line with these upgrades, Myriad has deployed a dedicated wallet system that integrates with MoonPay, allowing users to make rapid deposits.
Farokh Sarmad, co-founder and President of Myriad, heralded the investment as a milestone for the organization, underscoring that the capital will enable the company to enter a new growth phase, focusing on the development and scaling of Myriad Markets. The combination of strategic investments and enhanced functionalities positions Myriad to take a more formidable stance in the competitive landscape of prediction markets.
