Two notable brands of superfood supplements distributed online across major platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and Target, are undergoing a recall due to potential salmonella contamination. The affected products are Total Nutrition Inc’s moringa-filled supplement, TNVitamins Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood, and Doctor’s Pride Complete Green Superfood Ultra Potent Moringa Capsules. This recall was formally announced in a notice on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website on May 26.
The recalled supplements come in white bottles with white caps and contain 120 capsules each. Health officials suggest that these products may be linked to a wider multistate salmonella outbreak associated with dietary supplements containing imported moringa leaf powder. According to the FDA, there have been 119 reported cases of illness connected to this outbreak, with 32 individuals requiring hospitalization.
