Authorities Locate Suspect Vehicle in Evansdale Hit-and-Run Incident

Authorities in Evansdale, Iowa, were called to the scene of a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday involving a United States Postal Service (USPS) vehicle on Lafayette Road, situated between Roosevelt Road and Heather Avenue. The incident left the driver of the USPS vehicle with injuries, though the severity has not been disclosed.

Debris scattered across the roadway indicated that the suspect vehicle could potentially be a full-sized truck or SUV. Investigators noted visible damage to the front passenger side and observed that a mirror was missing, which may aid in identifying the vehicle.

In the wake of the incident, the Evansdale Police Department reached out to the community for assistance, specifically targeting residents with home surveillance cameras in the area. Their call to action was aimed at gathering any relevant footage that might provide insights into the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.

Approximately two hours after the initial report, the Evansdale Police Department provided an update on their Facebook page, confirming that they had successfully located the suspected vehicle, thanks in large part to the assistance of a vigilant citizen. Further details regarding the condition of the injured driver or specifics about the suspect vehicle have yet to be released as the investigation continues.
