Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has recently broadened its offerings by launching access to US stock options trading through its Stock+ platform. This development allows eligible users to engage in options contracts alongside a wide array of financial instruments, including cryptocurrencies, tokenized equities, and foreign exchange, all integrated within one user-friendly interface.
The initial phase of this options trading rollout focuses on long call and long put strategies. Long call options facilitate speculation on rising stock prices, while long put options enable users to benefit from decreasing prices or provide hedging for current equity holdings. A significant advantage for participants is that their risk is limited to the premium cost of each contract. This means that if the anticipated movement in the underlying asset does not occur, the option can expire worthless, but users will not incur further losses.
Prior to this latest enhancement, the Stock+ platform already provided access to tokenized stock offerings and opportunities to participate in pre-initial public offerings (IPOs). The recent integration of options trading empowers users with additional tactical tools to navigate events such as corporate earnings releases and periods characterized by heightened market volatility.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen has described this launch as part of a larger strategic vision aimed at convergence within the trading landscape. Chen emphasized that the company’s innovative products are designed to deliver advanced trading capabilities across a spectrum of assets, including stocks, gold, cryptocurrencies, and various global financial instruments.
This launch comes on the heels of a record year in the US options market, which saw upwards of 15.2 billion contracts traded in 2025—roughly translating to around 60 million contracts per trading session. The surge in activity can be attributed to increased participation from both retail traders and institutional investors, who utilize options for speculation, risk management, and portfolio enhancement.
Bitget’s move is aligned with broader trends in the cryptocurrency industry, as other platforms are also expanding their options trading capabilities. For instance, Binance has introduced more than 7,000 US-listed equities and ETF options, while Coinbase plans to extend its options trading features to encompass equities, digital assets, thematic equity index instruments, and pre-IPO perpetual contracts.
Currently, Bitget’s offerings are limited to single-leg options strategies, but the platform has announced plans to introduce more complex multi-leg strategies in future updates. As a promotional incentive, eligible users who execute their first US stock options transaction can receive $15 in Nvidia stock, subject to availability.
With this enhanced Stock+ platform, Bitget joins a select group of cryptocurrency exchanges providing a comprehensive suite of trading tools that include digital currencies, tokenized securities, options contracts, forex, market indices, commodities, and contracts for difference—all on a single platform.
