Bitget, recognized as the world’s largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has made a significant announcement regarding the evolution of its flagship women-in-blockchain initiative, Blockchain4Her. The updated initiative, now coined “Lady Forward,” aims to transform the narrative surrounding women’s roles in the Web3 ecosystem, positioning them not merely as participants, but rather as leaders, innovators, and decision-makers.
Since its launch in January 2024, Blockchain4Her has been firmly rooted in four strategic pillars: Elevating, Empowering, Educating, and Embracing. Throughout its journey, it has achieved notable milestones, including the funding of 11 women-led startups through its Pitch n’ Slay competition, reaching over 300,000 individuals via UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition, and facilitating thousands of women’s engagements in global meetups. The “Lady Forward” proposition marks a transition towards creating sustained leadership pipelines and enhancing community impact.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget and the driving force behind Blockchain4Her, emphasized the empowering message behind “Lady Forward.” She stated, “’Lady first’ is a phrase granted from the outside. ‘Lady Forward’ is an action we take ourselves. It means we are not waiting for a man to hold the door. We are building the door, opening it, and leading the way through it.” This initiative embodies a commitment to equipping women with the necessary tools and support to shape the future of Web3 on their own terms.
The roadmap under the “Lady Forward” initiative will introduce several new programs, including enhanced partnerships with universities, a fresh internship scheme, and the launch of a Female Leaders Program aimed at connecting women across the blockchain landscape—ranging from developers and investors to entrepreneurs and policymakers. At the upcoming TOKEN2049 event in Singapore, Bitget will host a dedicated space for Blockchain4Her, termed Pop Forward Station, featuring interactive activities as well as opportunities to engage with Gracy Chen and other prominent female figures in the industry.
As Blockchain4Her enters this new phase, Bitget’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity within the blockchain sector is reaffirmed. The initiative seeks not just to ensure women have a seat at the table but to actively place them in leadership roles, thereby allowing them to redefine the decentralized landscape.
Established in 2018, Bitget serves over 120 million users globally across more than 150 countries. The platform is dedicated to enhancing trading experiences with innovative features like copy trading, real-time cryptocurrency pricing, and a robust multi-chain wallet that supports a multitude of blockchains and tokens. Bitget is also propelling crypto adoption through strategic partnerships, including collaborations with organizations like UNICEF aimed at advancing blockchain education, and serving as the exclusive cryptocurrency partner for entities like MotoGP™ and LALIGA.
As Bitget embarks on this new chapter with “Lady Forward,” the overarching goal is to empower women within the blockchain space, ensuring they are not just involved, but are at the forefront of shaping the future of Web3.
