In a significant expansion beyond its Hedera roots, HSuite Network has announced a dual rollout that introduces a new multichain wallet alongside the upcoming launch of Smart Engine V3. This makes HSuite one of the pioneering projects to operate natively on both the Hedera and XRP Ledger platforms. The co-founders, Topachi and Tom, shared insights into this ambitious development during an episode of the Genfinity podcast sponsored by HashPack. Their strategy points towards a broader trend of creating chain-agnostic infrastructures for decentralized finance (DeFi), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and AI agents.
HSuite is not a conventional Layer-1 or DeFi application; rather, it serves as a protocol layer enhancing the functionality of public ledgers. The network employs Smart Validators and Smart Nodes to execute logic instead of relying on traditional smart contracts. This unique architecture invokes immutable rules stored in JSON format via Hedera Consensus Service topics, enabling applications to perform complex operations without the memory limitations, gas fees, or administrative risks typical of smart contracts. Additionally, the reliance on oracles is circumvented, allowing validators to reference external data through controlled rule sets.
The decision to integrate with the XRP Ledger stems from shared objectives of rapid transaction settlement, minimal fees, and enterprise readiness inherent to both platforms. The XRP Ledger also features a native decentralized exchange and order book, enabling HSuite to implement its decentralized exchange (DEX) routing logic across varying liquidity environments. The HSuite team plans to extend its offerings to other networks like Solana and Polkadot in the future, indicating that this launch is just an initial step in a broader multichain strategy.
The HSuite Wallet, the flagship product of this rollout, supports both Hedera and XRPL from day one. This wallet is designed to leverage Hedera’s new batch transaction feature, allowing multiple atomic operations in a single transaction, such as minting and transferring NFTs without relying on smart contracts. To fill a gap left by existing wallets, HSuite developed a Native Connect protocol, and future expansions will incorporate support for additional networks such as Solana and Polkadot, aiming to provide a unified solution for users and developers navigating multiple platforms.
Accompanying the wallet rollout is Smart Engine V3, a chain-agnostic execution layer currently undergoing audits with various firms. This new engine comprises three pivotal roles: Smart Validators, which sign transactions only when defined rules are fulfilled; Smart Gateways, which manage DNS and routing for decentralized applications; and Smart Hosts, which offer both frontend and backend hosting capabilities, including built-in IPFS pinning. This architecture allows developers to deploy entire application stacks without relying on centralized cloud services, as transactions that fail validator checks do not get recorded on the ledger.
Smart Engine V3 also addresses what Tom describes as the “decentralization paradox” in DeFi. Many smart contracts include admin keys controlled by a single entity, which poses risks like potential fund drains or asset freezes. V3 mitigates these risks by implementing multisig entities bound by immutable rules, while the governance of the HSuite token will transition to a decentralized framework—a Wyoming DUNA (Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Association).
The introduction of Smart Agents adds another layer of functionality, enabling users to deploy AI-driven bots that can manage on-chain transactions according to predefined rules. This ensures that any potentially risky transaction is automatically blocked, leveraging a safety net similar to Hedera’s Agent Kit V4, which allows for rule-based governance devoid of harmful AI outputs.
Furthermore, the combination of the wallet and Smart Engine V3 paves the way for a forthcoming Smart App Marketplace. This innovative platform will allow developers to create fully decentralized applications and monetize them through subscriptions, significantly lowering the barrier for entry by enabling easy assembly of apps via AI assistance.
The implications for enterprises are profound, as Smart Engine V3 was designed to provide large organizations with blockchain solutions without needing to expose their data on public networks. By licensing Smart Engine V3 nodes to run private validator networks, companies can enforce compliance with standards like SOC 2 or MiCA while also connecting to public ledgers, providing an affordable Web3 toolkit for smaller businesses.
The timing of this dual launch is particularly relevant, as both Hedera and XRP Ledger are in the midst of expanding their DeFi ecosystems. With multichain solutions still relatively rare, HSuite is positioning itself to fill a critical gap. Their deployment on XRPL is anticipated to coincide with a token burn and an ecosystem development fund aimed at supporting XRPL builders. If the Smart Engine V3 is launched as scheduled, HSuite aims to establish itself as one of the few protocol layers operating consistently across both Hedera and XRPL with a unified codebase.
