Ripple has alerted its community about a surge in scam accounts impersonating the company on social media platforms, particularly Telegram. In a recent communication, Ripple clarified that it does not have an official Telegram channel and urged users to remain vigilant against potential fraudsters posing as company representatives.

The warning from RippleX, the company’s division focused on innovative financial solutions, underscores the rise of fraudulent accounts that claim to be Ripple recruiters or customer support agents. Scammers have been using Ripple’s branding and even images of CEO Brad Garlinghouse in their attempts to deceive users.

Ripple reiterated that it does not engage in business transactions through unofficial channels like Telegram, making it clear that the company will never reach out to users to offer support, solicit personal information, or request payment in any form. In a tweet, Ripple stated, “Any account claiming to be an official Ripple Telegram is not legitimate,” reinforcing its stance against these malicious activities.

Scammers have been employing various strategies to gain the trust of individuals. Many of these fraudsters promote phony cryptocurrency giveaways that appear to be linked to Ripple, often using legitimate video content from Ripple’s public engagements. Ultimately, these scams direct victims to fictitious websites or fraudulent crypto wallet addresses, heightening the risk for unsuspecting individuals.

In light of these developments, Ripple has advised the XRP community to exercise caution when approached through unofficial channels. The company has recommended verifying any communications or offers by consulting official Ripple platforms to ensure authenticity.

Despite the ongoing issues with scams, Ripple’s XRP Ledger is experiencing significant growth, with over 7.7 million holders now holding XRP. The increasing number of wallet addresses highlights the rising adoption of the digital asset. As the user base expands, Ripple’s efforts to combat fraud are becoming increasingly vital to safeguard its community from these scams.
