Strategy Inc. has made headlines with its recent acquisition of 487 Bitcoin (BTC), valued at approximately $49.9 million. This purchase, completed between November 3 and November 9, was facilitated through a Form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which was publicly disclosed on November 10. The average purchase price for the Bitcoin was reported to be around $102,557 per coin.

To finance this acquisition, the company leveraged its at-the-market offering program, successfully raising $50 million through the issuance of preferred stock across four categories. This strategy allowed Strategy to avoid diluting common shareholders during the transaction. The breakdown of funds raised included $18.3 million from STRF stock, $26.2 million from STRC, $4.5 million from STRK, and an additional $1 million from STRD.

With this latest acquisition, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings have now reached 641,692 BTC, bringing the aggregate investment in Bitcoin to approximately $47.54 billion. This reflects an average purchase price of $74,079 per Bitcoin across all acquisitions, with current holdings valued at approximately $67.83 billion based on Bitcoin’s closing price of $105,697.30 on November 10. The company now boasts an unrealized profit exceeding $20 billion since it began accumulating Bitcoin.

Chairman Michael Saylor announced on social media that Strategy has achieved a year-to-date BTC Yield of 26.1% for 2025, which is a measure of the percentage change in Bitcoin-per-share. BTC Yield is calculated by dividing the total Bitcoin held by diluted shares outstanding.

The recent acquisition aligns with the company’s ongoing strategy of accumulating Bitcoin and positions it firmly as the largest corporate holder of the cryptocurrency, as well as the largest treasury company overall. The firm has been active in capital raising throughout 2025, and it recently expanded its offerings with a euro-denominated STRE stock initiative aimed at attracting European professional investors.

In addition to the latest acquisition of 487 BTC, Strategy has previously secured Bitcoin in several transactions this year, including 850 BTC on September 22, 196 BTC on September 29, 220 BTC on October 13, and 168 BTC on October 20.

Looking ahead, Strategy maintains a robust funding capacity through its at-the-market offering program, with over $26 billion available for future acquisitions. This includes $15.85 billion in common stock capacity, $20.34 billion in STRK stock, $4.17 billion in STRC stock, $4.13 billion in STRD stock, and $1.64 billion in STRF stock.

While the company’s Bitcoin-centric business model has garnered both support and skepticism, evidenced by critiques from analysts like Peter Schiff, Strategy’s aggressive capital raising strategies aim to solidify its leadership in the cryptocurrency sector.
