The final UFC card of the year is set to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, wrapping up the promotion’s 2025 schedule. UFC Vegas 112, headlined by top-ranked flyweight contenders Manel Kape and Brandon Royval, marks the conclusion of the year for the organization. However, as fight week unfolded, notable changes emerged on the card.
In a turn of events, fighter Melsik Baghdasaryan had to withdraw from his scheduled featherweight matchup against Joanderson Brito just days before the weigh-ins. The UFC swiftly sought a replacement, bringing in LFA standout Isaac Thomson for a chance at his UFC debut. Thomson comes into the fight with a three-fight win streak, having recently earned a split decision victory over Akbarjon Islomboev at LFA 219 in October.
Brito, who had seen his momentum stall with two consecutive losses, had previously showcased an impressive five-fight win streak before this downturn, finishing each of his opponents during that span after losing his UFC debut in 2022.
In addition to the Brito-Thomson matchup, the card will see longtime lightweight veteran King Green welcome Lance Gibson Jr. to the Octagon in a catchweight bout. Green, a UFC member since 2013 and once a prominent figure in the lightweight rankings, is looking to rebound after facing stoppage in the first round in his last two fights. Gibson, following the first loss of his MMA career in Bellator earlier this year, made a comeback with two consecutive first-round finishes last year.
UFC Vegas 112 now boasts a lineup of 13 bouts, with the addition of Thomson versus Brito and Green against Gibson enhancing the event’s profile. Notably, another Bellator veteran, former Welterweight Champion Yaroslav Amosov, is set to make his UFC debut against Neil Magny.
