US stock futures are trending slightly lower this morning, as E-mini S&P 500 futures have dipped by about 0.2%. Investors are navigating a landscape marked by cheaper borrowing costs alongside mixed signals regarding global economic growth. Notably, the 30-year US mortgage rate has fallen below the 6% threshold, settling at 5.98%. This decline may ease monthly mortgage payments and shift attention towards housing-related stocks.

In contrast, the Kansas Fed Manufacturing Index has experienced a rebound to 10, signaling a potential uptick in factory activity in various regions of the US. The pivotal question for investors is whether the reduction in housing costs and improving manufacturing indicators can counterbalance existing growth apprehensions. This is especially critical for sectors such as homebuilding, mortgage-associated banks, and industrial companies that are sensitive to economic fluctuations.

For those feeling uncertain about housing market dynamics amid these mixed growth signals, a selection of 80 resilient stocks with low risk scores may provide a more cautious approach.

In stock movements, Accenture (ACN) saw a notable increase, jumping 8.29% after it announced a multi-year collaboration on artificial intelligence with Mistral AI. Similarly, TKO Group Holdings (TKO) gained 8.01% following its fourth-quarter results and 2026 guidance, alongside several price target increases from analysts. Zscaler (ZS) also reported a rise of 7.49% after its fiscal Q2 results and subsequent updates from analysts regarding price targets.

Conversely, some stocks faced significant declines. Zoom Communications (ZM) dropped 11.58%, attributed to mixed reactions from investors concerning guidance and margin commentary following its fourth-quarter earnings report. Everpure (PSTG) fell 10.30% as investors digested its quarterly results, margin pressures, and outlook for 2027. Nu Holdings (NU) also saw a decline of 9.55% after its full-year results and earnings comments.

Looking ahead, global manufacturing and energy signals are crucial, especially with a major earnings release from Berkshire Hathaway scheduled for Saturday. This report will provide a comprehensive overview of US corporate activities for 2025. Additionally, the ISM Manufacturing PMI for February set to be released on Monday will shed light on factory conditions and pricing pressures. Global markets are also keenly awaiting insights from the Bank of Japan’s Himino speech, as well as China’s RatingDog Manufacturing PMI which will give an updated perspective on Chinese factory conditions.

As oil traders remain on alert for OPEC’s calendar updates this Sunday—monitoring any discussions surrounding supply and price discipline—investors can utilize portfolio and watchlist features to keep track of these market-moving events.

While headlines fluctuate between housing and manufacturing, hidden opportunities may soon surface, warranting attention. Robust financial health and strong balance sheets can provide a foundation for investors looking to stabilize their portfolios amid volatile sentiment. Tools such as stock screeners can aid in identifying companies that meet specific criteria, promoting a proactive approach to portfolio management.
