OAKLAND — A Vallejo rapper has been arrested and charged with allegedly robbing an individual he arranged to purchase jewelry from, according to local police authorities. Juwon Galbraith, 28, faces charges of second-degree robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon. Despite the serious charges, he has been released from jail pending the outcome of the case. A judge has mandated that Galbraith stay away from the alleged victim while he remains out of custody.
Police were able to identify Galbraith through his Instagram account, which is linked to his stage name, YWN Juski. The alleged victim recognized him via social media and subsequently confirmed his identity in a photo lineup provided by law enforcement.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 14, when Galbraith organized a meeting to buy jewelry from the victim. During the encounter on East 25th Street in Oakland, he allegedly brandished a black handgun and threatened the victim, stating, “don’t try anything stupid.” Following the robbery, which involved the theft of a Rolex watch and a gold necklace, Galbraith reportedly fled the scene with the assistance of a getaway driver.
On September 3, police executed a search warrant at Galbraith’s residence on Cadloni Lane in Vallejo. They found him in a vehicle parked outside his home, where officers discovered a significant amount of cash in various denominations and a white pill bottle containing suspected Oxycodone.
Records indicate that Galbraith has a prior conviction for accessory after the fact related to a 2016 robbery case in Solano County. Additionally, he was previously arrested as part of a larger police investigation in 2023 concerning the robbery of then-Alameda County Judge Kevin Murphy, who was targeted for a $12,000 Rolex watch in an Oakland parking garage. Although Galbraith was not directly implicated in that robbery, he was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to sell cocaine during police raids on multiple residences around Vallejo on August 22, 2023.
