TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State swimming and diving team is set to kick off its season with the much-anticipated annual Garnet & Gold Meet on September 19, commencing at 3 p.m. ET at the Morcom Aquatics Center. This event not only marks the beginning of the competitive season but also invites fans to experience the excitement firsthand, as admission to the meet and all home competitions for the 2025-26 season will be free.

Head coach Neal Studd expressed enthusiasm about the Garnet & Gold Meet, emphasizing its significance as a tradition that engages both athletes and fans. “The Garnet & Gold meet is a great tradition to begin the year. It’s competitive, it’s fun, and it’s a great way for fans to see our team in action early on. We’ve been training hard, and now we get to go out and have some fun with it,” Studd stated.

The meet will follow a traditional format featuring 16 events, enhanced this year with the addition of the 100 individual medley. Athletes will showcase their skills across various races, including the 100s and 200s of each stroke, as well as the 50, 500 and 1000 freestyles, and the 200 individual medley. The competition will kick off with the 200 medley relay and will wrap up with a thrilling 200 freestyle relay. Diving events will take place concurrently with the swimming competitions, adding to a packed schedule of activities.

Looking ahead, the team will also be hosting the FSU Invitational slated for September 26-27. In celebration of the regular season’s start, a lively tailgate event will kick off the competition on Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Morcom Aquatics Center parking lot. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere with a live DJ, a bounce house, various garden games, and food trucks ready to serve.

The two-day invitational will officially begin on Friday at 7 p.m., with events continuing on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Fans are encouraged to engage with the Seminoles on social media platforms including Twitter/X (@FSU_Swimming), Instagram (@FSUSwimDive), and Facebook (FSUSwimmingDiving) for real-time updates and exclusive content throughout the season.
