Bitget, one of the leading universal exchanges globally, has announced the commencement of the second year of its partnership with UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition (GCC). Launched in June 2025 through UNICEF Luxembourg, this collaboration is pivotal in its mission to enhance digital literacy and access to technology among youth in emerging economies. Following a successful first year, the coalition is gearing up for an ambitious new phase focused on innovative training modules and geographic expansion.
The coalition has already made a tangible impact, reaching over 642,000 beneficiaries, including young people, parents, and teachers across eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. The initiative, spearheaded by UNICEF’s Office of Innovation, prioritizes girls, who constitute 52% of participants, aiming to bridge the gender gap in access to digital skills.
Through a forward-thinking educational program, the GCC provides community-based learning pathways and organizes video game hackathons both online and in-person. These activities equip young individuals with essential skills for entering the digital economy and exploring new avenues for employment and entrepreneurship.
In its inaugural year, Bitget actively contributed to the initiative by launching various programs to foster awareness and participation in technology education. A notable highlight was the visit of Bitget’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ignacio Aguirre, to Cambodia, where he engaged with local students, teachers, and partners involved in digital training. This experience underscored the transformative potential of basic digital education in improving life prospects for youths in disadvantaged areas.
Furthermore, Bitget’s CEO, Gracy Chen, played a crucial role in the inaugural edition of UNICEF’s Global Game Jam. During this 40-day event, young creators from emerging markets collaborated to develop original video games, benefitting from mentorship and online courses. These endeavors showcased the ability of young people to innovate when provided with proper tools and opportunities.
Looking ahead, the next phase of the Game Changers Coalition will introduce new content focused on financial literacy and artificial intelligence, with blockchain education set to roll out in 2026. This shift is in response to the increasing global demand for digital skills, particularly in emerging markets where mobile device usage is rising but traditional educational infrastructures lag behind.
Bitget is determined to further expand the GCC into three additional countries, enhancing the educational offerings and broadening the coalition’s impact. The strategy for the partnership’s second year will emphasize field visits, involvement from executives, and sustained support for training initiatives.
Gracy Chen emphasized the urgency of addressing the lag in educational systems compared to the rapid pace of technological integration into daily life. “Our ultimate goal is not only to introduce blockchain or digital tools,” she stated, “but also to build confidence and nurture long-term digital and financial skills that create opportunities extending beyond the cryptocurrency sphere.”
Thomas Davin, global director of UNICEF’s Office of Innovation, highlighted the coalition’s significance, stating that many young people remain excluded from the essential skills driving the current digital transformation. The GCC presents a robust answer to this challenge by uniting companies, institutions, and communities to equip young people with the skills, safety, and opportunities necessary for participation in a tech-centered economy.
Founded in 2018, Bitget has quickly positioned itself as a preeminent Universal Exchange (UEX), boasting over 120 million users accessing cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, and AI-driven trading tools. The platform also encompasses Bitget Wallet, a widely used financial management app with more than 80 million users. Bitget’s commitment to advancing global crypto adoption is further demonstrated through strategic partnerships with organizations like LaLiga, MotoGP™, and UNICEF.
UNICEF operates in over 190 countries, striving to reach the most vulnerable children and create a better future for all. UNICEF Luxembourg plays a vital role in mobilizing partnerships with the private sector to bolster its mission of protecting children’s rights, promoting gender equality, and alleviating child poverty.
As the renewed partnership unfolds, the growing demand for digital skills and the potential of technology to empower millions remain paramount. The Game Changers Coalition is set to continue exemplifying effective public-private collaboration, with plans to introduce new training modules and expand into new territories, ultimately equipping even more young individuals with the tools they need to become significant contributors to the global digital economy.
