In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian made a pointed accusation against Howard Stern regarding his commentary on her infamous 2016 robbery in Paris. The reality star claimed that Stern had consistently mocked her ordeal, suggesting that he believed she had fabricated the entire incident. “He was famously mocking it all the time and saying that I was sick and it’s such a joke and I made it all up,” Kardashian recounted, emphasizing her belief that Stern was adamant in his stance.
The robbery, which occurred during Paris Fashion Week, involved a group of men breaking into Kardashian’s hotel room, tying her up, and stealing millions in jewelry. Nearly nine years later, the series covered her confrontation with the men responsible in a Paris courtroom, adding emotional depth to her narrative.
In response to Kardashian’s claims, the official Instagram account of The Howard Stern Show released a clip featuring Stern addressing the accusations. “She accused me of saying that she faked her Paris robbery attempt,” he stated, adding that Kardashian appeared very emotional about it. Stern noted, “Fortunately for anybody in this case, our show is taped, so we went back and looked up what I said and nothing could be further from the truth.”
The segment displayed a flashback of Stern discussing the robbery with co-host Robin Quivers back in 2016. Both expressed empathy towards Kardashian, emphasizing that if her story were indeed false, it would have dire consequences. Stern elaborated that the prevailing conversation at the time included doubts about the authenticity of some celebrity incidents, yet he and Quivers were unequivocal in their belief that Kardashian’s robbery was real.
Stern articulated, “If anything, I would say… I would characterize that discussion as a very fair assessment that some people are saying it was fake, which was true. And we said, we don’t think it was fake.” He went on to express surprise that Kardashian would confront him about the matter, considering he could easily reference past comments to clarify his true stance.
Reflecting on the nature of his career, Stern concluded, “By the way, I have said so many awful things in my career, you don’t need to make up stuff. You can certainly find every awful thing I’ve said. It’s no secret.”
