In a bold move aimed at increasing user engagement, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is introducing a cryptocurrency rewards system linked to its social media platform, Truth Social. This new initiative allows premium subscribers to earn digital tokens known as “Truth Gems” through various activities such as posting, sharing, and creating content on the platform.
The rewards program will be tied to the “Patriot Package,” the highest subscription tier offered by Truth Social. In addition to the cryptocurrency rewards, subscribers of this package will also have access to features like post editing, scheduling, advanced search capabilities, and conversation history.
Once users accumulate a sufficient number of Truth Gems, they will be able to convert these tokens into Cronos (CRO), which is the native cryptocurrency of the platform’s partner, Crypto.com. The conversion will be facilitated through Crypto.com’s wallet infrastructure, although details regarding specific conversion rates and any potential redemption limits have yet to be disclosed.
The launch of this initiative is projected for later in 2025, making Truth Social the first major social media platform to establish a comprehensive crypto rewards system as part of its subscription offerings. This strategy differentiates Truth Social from other platforms such as X, which, while hinting at future crypto functionalities, has not implemented a similar rewards system. Meanwhile, Meta’s attempts to roll out crypto-related projects, including the Novi wallet and the Libra/Diem initiative, were ultimately unsuccessful.
This innovative approach not only aims to attract new users to Truth Social but also seeks to create a stronger connection between political media and the growing crypto landscape, appealing to a demographic that is increasingly interested in Web3 technologies. The partnership with Crypto.com also encompasses broader treasury and exchange-traded fund (ETF) initiatives, indicating TMTG’s intention to firmly integrate itself into the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
