Air traffic control communications revealed that crew members on United flight 2005 described the passenger’s actions as disruptive. Law enforcement officers, who happened to be on the flight, quickly intervened and managed to restrain him before the situation escalated further. Mike Rundle, a passenger on the flight, recounted the tense moments that unfolded in the cabin. Rundle reported a scene of turmoil as a few individuals restrained the passenger, which ultimately led to the plane making a U-turn to Madison.

Rundle recalled observing the commotion a few rows ahead of him as crew members successfully guided the man back to his seat.
