Bitget Wallet has officially unveiled a new initiative centered on World Cup predictions in collaboration with Polymarket, enabling its vast user base of 90 million to partake in tournament-related markets. This move comes as the excitement surrounding the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup continues to build, showcasing a surge in sports-driven on-chain activity.
The initiative leverages Bitget Wallet’s existing integration with Polymarket, aiming to introduce self-custodial cryptocurrency products to the mainstream through the World Cup. Scheduled to take place from June to July 2026, the tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, featuring 48 teams competing in 104 matches over 39 days.
Polymarket’s market for the 2026 FIFA World Cup winner has already achieved significant milestones, surpassing $1.2 billion in total trading volume and boasting over $280 million in liquidity. The market experiences substantial daily trading activity that commonly approaches $30 million.
The campaign launched by Bitget Wallet includes a generous $200,000 prize pool, which will be distributed through various World Cup-themed activities. These encompass champion predictions, ongoing engagement opportunities, and community watch parties. The initiative aims to facilitate access to on-chain markets via mobile wallets, enhancing the interactive experience of major sporting events within the crypto space.
This launch marks a significant progression in Bitget Wallet’s dedicated efforts toward prediction markets. The integration with Polymarket encompasses AI-assisted event analysis, smart money tracking, market discovery, and a mobile-first execution approach within a self-custodial wallet environment.
In addition, Bitget Wallet has made substantial upgrades to its prediction market infrastructure to accommodate increased activity during live match periods. The enhancements include a dedicated event data layer, integrated score and pricing checks, real-time monitoring capabilities, and a scalable cloud architecture designed to manage traffic spikes.
Alvin Kan, COO at Bitget Wallet, emphasized that prediction markets represent a novel method for global audiences to engage with significant events, proposing that wallets are well-positioned to serve as the gateway for new on-chain financial behaviors. Elden Mirzoian, director of growth and partnerships at Polymarket, noted that the World Cup stands as a monumental occasion in global sports, with the collaboration offering fans an additional avenue to interact with the tournament.
